Model Making Services
There are generally three ways I go about developing models for clients; 3D Printing, Hand Throwing Clay, or Hand Carving Plaster. I do also accept prefabricated models usually in the form of bisqueware or found objects upon approval.
3D File Building: If you have a technical drawing or physical model for me to work off of, I can build you a 3D file in Rhino of your designed model. I outsource my printing to MakeLab, a female owned 3D printing company based in Brooklyn, NY. I only work with models that are printed in SLA resin to avoid any additional sanding post printing.
Hand Thrown Models: When making single piece drop out molds, I prefer to work in house with my studio mate Hannah Taylor. She is a production thrower, who will throw models based on a technical drawing provided by the client. I will then make a mold of these models when the clay is leather hard. This insures ease when removing the model.
Hand Carved Plaster: Carving plaster by hand is a very time consuming intricate process. I am very selective in regards to what sort of models I would be able to use this process for, however if your project allows for it
